August 2011 ~ Update: Suki is doing well following her operation. Thank you very much indeed to everyone who has donated so far. The vet bill has reached £2,000 now, so every donation really is very gratefully received :-)

Suki is a beautiful 11 year old Golden Retriever girl who came into the care of Oldies Club, a rescue which rescues and rehomes older dogs, on the day of the Royal Wedding, earlier this year.

Suki has the rather unfortunate habbit of eating stones and recently had to undergo urgent surgery to remove a number of stones. She is now back at her foster home and recovering.

The total vet bill currently exceeds £1305 and is expected to increase, so the fundraising target may be revised at a future date.

Lab results also revealed that Suki had an antibiotic resistant infection, which is now under control with medication currently costing £8 per day.

Suki is an Oldies Club sponsor dog. In addition to the surgery Suki needed, she was sadly found to have a list of ailments during her vet check-up after coming into the charity's care. She suffers from spinal problems and terrible arthritis in her hips, which will progressively affect her mobility. She also has early signs of CDRM and is likely to need ear and eye drops for the rest of her life. Oldies Club decided that Suki should become a sponsor dog and cover her vet bills for the rest of her life. Her lovely fosterers willingly agreed she would stay with them, as part of the family, on a permanent basis.
