Great North Run 2016 · 11 September 2016 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Welcome You! Yes you, my friend...

Firstly - You have made it to my JustGiving page so I wanted to say 'Thank you' - Tick

Secondly -  You wanted to have a nose at my pictures - Tick. Take a look -  you will be amused I'm sure.

Thirdly - Why am I doing this? I am challenging myself from Couch to 13 miles partly because somebody said I wouldn't be able to do it (!)and more importantly because for every £20 I take from you we can help support a person with Alzheimers for one hour of their day - Tick

This support can take many forms but in essence it's about helping someone like your Grandma or Grandad or even Mum or Dad stay connected to their own life and keep a sense of their identity and self worth after being diagnosed with Dementia or Alzheimer's.

You have to be a special type of person to care for someone with Dementia and or Alzheimers - normally this will be someone who is a family member. Your donations can help provide support to those whose lives have been turned upside down.

Last Step - Support me and sponsor me, follow my journey from the sofa to September where I will cross the line with 40,000 fellow runners - and donate now!

Love Sukie xx
