Pylon Climb · 15 June 2017

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On June 15th I will be climbing a 36 metre Pylon to help raise funds to support Alzheimer's. The climb will take place on a training Pylon (still high, just without the electric shock!)

Through my company I've had the opportunity to learn a lot more about Alzheimer's and the brilliant work carried out by the Alzheimer's Society. Any donation, big or small, is appreciated and will go a long way in helping them to continue their great work.

  • There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK, with numbers set to rise to over 1 million by 2025. This will soar to 2 million by 2051.
  • 225,000 will develop dementia this year, that’s one every three minutes.
  • £5 Could pay for one person to attend a half an hour support session at a Dementia Café.
  • £10 Could pay for 100 copies of Alzheimer Society's most requested factsheet, Understanding and respecting the person with dementia.
  • £50 Could fund a National Dementia Helpline advisor for an hour, as they provide a listening ear for people in need of advice and support.
Thank you for your time.
