We made it!!
All the Team H-J members completed the course successfully, with times ranging from 1.26 (!!!), to 2.07.
Thank you for taking the time to look at this page and put your hand in your pocket for a fantastic cause. Some of you will know already know Team H-J and will have made the choice to Help For Heroes, a fantastic charity which offers real and practical support to soldiers who have been wounded in Britain's current conflicts. For those of you who don't personally know us, we're 4 sisters running the Reading Half Marathon in aid of our sister (Carys, the eldest, and the Mummy of the group) husband Mark who was badly injured in Afghanistan just before Christmas. Mark & Carys have been brilliant throughout, and they have very selflessly been all about helping the other families whose lives have also been affected.
Along the way, we've collected some supporters. That's right, we've found people to run along side us, and as Neill is also Bethan's boyrfriend (numero troi of the sisters), he'll also be the one running behind and getting Betty organised and on time to fly home from Gibraltar to run!
Janine Walter's is Ellie's (the youngest of the group) house mate, and therefore critical to the general choosing of outfits for pre-race day events - and is actually the key mentor for keeping Ellie safe and running on the streets of Berkshire!
Ben Elmslie is a long time friend of the family, and we're hoping that after recovering from a broken ankle, and splashing some cash on some jazzy new trainers, he is going to be racing fit and ready to take on the girls!
We appreciate all the support, and hope that you can help Team HJ and all their supporters raise lots of money for a cause that is really close to our hearts.
Thank you,
Team HJ
Carys, Rhian, Bethan, & Elinor
