My story

Hi -thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in the Great North Swim on September 13th 2009 - a one mile open water swim in Lake Windermere. It seemed like a good idea at the time! With less than a month to go now I have started training, organised the chauffeur, bought the wetsuit (takes about 15mins to get on at moment!) and had a go in a real weed-filled, murky lake.

I am swimming on behalf of Deafblind UK and hope to raise at  least £150. Deafblind UK is a national charity offering specialist services and human support to deafblind people. Their aim is to enable people to maintain their independence, quality of life, and reduce the isolation that deafblindness creates.

A donation of £25 could give a deafblind person 60 minutes of one to one support from our Helpline team in time of crisis. £100 could pay for a day's mobility training.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
