On Saturday 28 May I'll be abseiling off the top of Princesshay car park - that's 7 storeys of unnervingly smooth stone wall - to raise money for Food for Thought. This great programme links up schools in the UK and Uganda - children in both countries learn about food, learn about growing, and learn about each other. Food for Thought has now been running for 10 years and has touched thousands of lives. Please sponsor me and help support the next 10 years. Small donations are very welcome!
Food for Thought is just one programme of Devon Development Education, a charity which helps children and adults across Devon learn about other cultures and make links between their own lives and those of people throughout the world. Visit the web page at www.globalcentredevon.org.uk to learn more about us.
Food for Thought now links 70 schools in Devon, Berkshire and Uganda. The programme creates a direct, positive connection between pupils and teachers in linked schools. Children in Uganda, most of whom will grow up to be farmers, learn skills in sustainable, effective agriculture that they can take home to their families and the British children learn about where their food comes from.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
