As most of you will remember, I volunteered for 2 months last year looking after orphaned orangutans in Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Borneo. This was such an amazing and rewarding experience and I want to now support another Orangutan Charity in Borneo and raise some funds to help them rescue, rehabilitate and eventually release orphaned orangutans back into the wild.
Orangutans are highly endangered as a result of the illegal pet trade and the destruction of their natural habit due to logging and palm oil plantations in Borneo and Sumatra.On 20th September 2009, I will be running just over 13 long miles in the Bupa Great North Run and me and the orangutans would really really appreciate it if you would sponsor me.
