The Ronald McDonald provides free accommodation to families from all over Scotland while their child undergoes treatment at Yorkhill Hospital. After Fraser (age 11)  had a bad accident in January and underwent emergency brain surgery at Yorkhill  this service was invaluable and meant we had somewhere to stay which was right on the doorstep of the hospital so we were never far from Fraser. Around 600 families per year will stay in the Ronald McDonald and they need to raise in the region of £300,000 per year to keep it running. Fraser is doing fantastic but he will need another operation in a few months and hopefully we will be lucky enough to be able to stay at the family house again.

 

We cannot thank Yorkhill enough for what they have done for us and our brave wee soldier Fraser. Everyone was fantastic, A&E, the nursing staff, Neuro Surgeons and the Ronald McDonald . That is why we (Frasers mum and Auntie) are being very brave (or at least we think so!!!) and doing the Zip Slide to try and raise as much as we can for this amazing charity so it can continue to help other families like ourselves.
