We support thousands of people living with terminal illnesses & their families, in our three hospices, via our patient & family support services, and in the community through Myton at Home. We need to raise £12.7 million this year to provide our services free of charge – we can’t do it without you!

Story

Susanna (Sue) was diagnosed with Stage IV melanoma cancer on February 13th 2015, 5 days after her 47th Birthday. Stage IV basically means that the cancer has spread to different parts of the body.

As part of her treatment Sue had a hip replacement a month after diagnosis and spinal surgery a month after the hip replacement. Sue spent the last 6 weeks of her life (apart from one week in the middle) as an inpatient at Myton. The care that Sue received at both Coventry and later Warwick Hospices was amazing. The nursing staff and volunteers have a fantastic "can do" attitude, where the first answer to any requests is “lets see how we can do that”. All 3 of our Children had sleepovers with Sue at both Coventry and Warwick Hospices.

The care that Myton provided towards the end made Sue's life so comfortable, and her death dignified, peaceful and pain free.

Sue died on September 21st 7 months and 8 days after her diagnosis with cancer. Sue left behind her Husband James, Daughters Bethany (16), Emily (7) and Son Aiden (9).

Please donate to Myton so that they may offer the same services to others as they did to Sue.

Here's how your donations can make a difference.

£12 = a specially prepared patient meal
£25 = an hour of specialist nursing care
£70 = a Myton at Home patient visit
£158 = a patient attending our day hospice
£135 = a bereavement counselling session
£535 = an in-patient bed for a day
