I am raising money for the motor Neurone Disease Association in memory of my amazing brother-in-law David Greaves who passed away from this terrible disease in September 2016.  I last ran the GNR in September 2016 just a few weeks before Dave's passing.   He came to support us all on that day, despite being in horrendous pain and yet he still had a twinkle in his eyes.  I will remember that day for the rest of my life (it was the last time I saw him alive).  We have decided to run the GNR again in 2019, in Dave's memory and to continue to support the MNDA and the fantastic work that they do.

Dave was only 31 when he passed away.  MND is a degenerative disease that results in death of motor neurones (the cells which control voluntary muscle movement in the body).  It robs those that suffer from it the use of their limbs, their voice and eventually their lungs.  It drastically reduces life expectancy, 50% of people die within just 2 years of being diagnosed.
