Total Warrior Challenge · 6 August 2011

Matthew's Friends provide information and support for children and adults using Ketogenic Dietary Therapies for epilepsy, Glut1DS, and other neurological disorders.

Story

I would say 'hi', but the fact you've already made it this far must mean you wanted to be here in the first place. Be here with the Suze-Meister. Sharing the pain and the love. Together. Forever (is there a song here?).

Anyway...

The Reasoning Bit: Why I signed up to take part in the Total Warrior challenge is beyond me, but when I think about the day that Matthew's Friends came in to work to give their speech on what their charity is about, it brings tears to my eyes and all is remembered. Plus the fact that I've always wanted to be a Marine, but for some stupid reason girls aren't allowed...maybe they still think bears are attracted to the smell of our menstruation and are afraid they'll get ambushed and eaten....

The Science Bit: The challenge itself is a 10K run mixed with an aptly named 'assault' course, at the beginning of August in the Lake District. Think fire, mud and crawling through tunnels and you're on the right track (loving the pun there). I'm entered in a team of 10 peeps from work and we're aiming to raise £10K in total. See what we did there? F*** we're creative.

The Mushy Bit: So please give generously for this great charity (remember to add Gift Aid), and the more money I get, the more ridiculous photos I'll upload to show the pain of training. That alone has gotta be worth it. Now where did I put my neon pink leotard with matching sweatband and ankle warmers....?

Anyway, that's me done now. Thanks for Stopping By - Stay Classy Planet Earth!
