Each year between 80,000 & 120,000 people suffer a cardiac arrest in a public place in the UK, in some cases leading to sudden death.
SAD's UK
1. Donates heart monitoring equipment to medical establishments such as GP surgeries, clinica and medical centres to detect abmornalities of the heartbeat. This equipment helps to determine if the patient has a cardiac condition, the level of risk and if urgent regerral is required.
2. Organiseds placement of defibrillators, including CPR training in schools and other organisations to help improve survival outcome if a cardiac arrest should occur. SAD's UK is urging Paliament to make defibrillators available in all schools.
3. Provides information about conditions that effect the electrical system of the heart. With knowledge of signs and symptoms of these conditions patients can be diagnosed and treted, potentially saving lives.
