Baxters Loch Ness Marathon 2013 · 29 September 2013 ·

Sight Scotland has supported and campaigned for people affected by visual impairment for over two centuries, but we know we can do more. Our vision is an inclusive Scotland where everyone, regardless of their sight, has the opportunity to thrive. But we can only achieve this with your help.

Story

The marathon started between Fort Augustus and Foyers.  Once down to the banks of Loch Ness at Foyers, we headed north-east towards Dores.  After the infamous Mile 18 hill our sights set on Inverness and alas we crossed over the main bridge in the towncentre before running the last half mile to the finish in Bught Park.  The teeming splendour of Nature, under the blue sun kissed sky, and with Orkney's 'The Chair' keeping my spirits high, I met with a sense of deep gratitude.  I finished in 3 hours and 47 minutes.  My pals Susan and Gerald greeted me at Bught Park- in their warm highland welcome I rejuvenated.

Thank you for your support.  Royal Blind offers services for visually impaired children and adults in the community and your donation will make a difference.
