Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Family and friends have been asking me what I would like for a present on my 70th birthday. I'm so happy you are my friends and family and there is really nothing that I need. Instead, and only if you really want to give, with a little help from my sister I have found a charity to which donations could be sent. It seems very appropriate to me because of my love of children and for gardens. It is called 'Greenfingers'. Tom and Ellie call Dick 'Grandad Greenfingers' from a photograph of him showing his green hands after painting the bridge over our stream. The charity provides gardens for children's hospices. Amongst others they have provided gardens in Birmingham, Newcastle and Oxford, whilst their HQ is in Beaconsfield - more connections. To quote from the charity's website www.greenfingercharity.org.uk Greenfingers is a small charity which is dedicated to creating magical gardens for children's hospices around the UK. It is 11 years old, and during its life has created 32 special gardens. The benefits of these gardens are tremendous to children staying in hospices and their families too. Do have a look at the website.
