<p>You all know, my favourite thing is life is to communicate with others, so when I pledged to raise £1000 for Brook by the end of 2010, I imagined myself throwing a massive party, having a comedy or variety night, doing some amazing cycle challenge or something else we could talk about for ages....</p>
<p>Instead, I have decided to give myself the hardest challenge I have ever imagined doing in my life... BE SILENT so this great charity can communicate more effectivly to young people and give them a voice! I figure, if I need £1000, then its around £20 an hour quiet time to quieten me for 48 hours - this WILL kill me... I cant even scuba dive without having a board to write on!</p>
<p>I want to do this challenge as I figure that the only thing that will inspire people to donate at this time of the year was the thought of me struggling not to speak for a few days! It will be worth it for the laugh!</p>
<p>As I have NO self discipline, I will have myself "commited", and book into a Silent retreat* in January**, as I know how easily a ball gag can come loose and I need to ensure you all know I truly don't utter a peep as promised.... this will be SO hard!!! Im scared already.... ;)</p>
<p>I will be as quiet as the money dictates, so at £20 an hour, dig deep and see how long you can all shut me up for!!! </p>
<p>* A silent retreat is where you are supervised and not allowed to talk at all for the duration of your stay. This is at my own expense and **date depends on availability of retreat centre</p>
