Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I must admit I am nervous! Two reasons - I want to raise more than the pledged amount of £600. (I'm paying my own entrance fee and all associated costs)

Secondly am I able to hike up Ben Nevis!  Hill climbing in Bedford is not something we do often - due to the lack of hills!

Why am I doing it?  Cancer has and is affecting so many of our family, friends and colleagues, and I just felt I wanted to try and help in some way.  I'm hoping that between us we can raise some much needed funds to help support MacMillan in giving the expert care that they provide to so many people.

The fact that the challenge is taking part in one of the most beautiful parts of the country is a bonus.

One thing I know for sure is that the support and participation of fund raising events at the Training Centre is amazing.  We have some great ideas lined up, first event was yesterday 28 March when we had an Easter Egg Hunt, tonight is the first of Belly Dancing sessions(photos can be arranged at a cost :-))   followed by a quiz night at the Training Centre and another one at a local pub, also a sports night (dates to be confirmed).

If you would like to know more about MacMillan Cancer Support and how fundraising money is spent they have a fantastic website which is totally inspiring.

So please dig deep and donate now.
