My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Anyone who has met me knows I am built for comfort and not for speed so I have no doubt most people will be surprised that I have signed up to 'run' a 5k.

I am doing this for an amazing charity, Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust, which is a group of volunteer drivers who will take people suffering from cancer to and from appointments. The charity relies totally on donations and the service they provide is unbelievable. This charity is personal to me as it has recently provided a driver to take my mum in and out to the Beatson Oncology every day for almost 6 weeks while she was receiving radiotherapy. She is doing well now and the support from Lanarkshire Cancer Care Trust was fantastic.

I am currently in 'training' and know I have a long way to go....at the moment I can run for about 500 metres without stopping so just need to manage to multiply that by 10 and I will be fine! The training is going well although so far I have managed to fall through someone's hedge so hopefully I will still be in one piece by the time the run comes around. The run takes place in Bellahouston Park on the 29th October and if anyone wants to meet me at the finish line with a bag of Haribo and a paramedic, that would be great.
