Thanks too for donating to Shropshire Historic Churches Trust and St Peter's Church Rushbury by sponsoring our journey.

 

The day was beautiful - the weather splendid and Suzie was accompanied by her friend Fraggle and his human partner Bev plus two bikes (ridden by Dave and John).  We visited five churches and travelled around 17 miles, starting at 10:00am at Rushbury and ending at 5:15pm at Easthope.  Both horses were fine throughout - and still keen for a canter up a stubble field towards the end - with Suzie overtaking Fraggle on the way (he's 9 years old and she is 27!).  The humans coped pretty well too including enjoying a pub lunch part way through.  Photos will follow or will be able to be seen on my Facebook page in due course.

 

Although the ride is done, donations are still welcome if you feel like celebrating the beauty of Shropshire's churches and/or the stamina of healthy well loved horses - especially that of  'golden veterans' who while they are healthy and enjoying their work, deserve much more fun and variety in their lives than being retired to a field - however lush.
