Next April I am financing my participation in the Peru Trek Challenge.  I intend using the Challenge of the 8 day climb to raise a minumum of £3,000 for the local hospice in the time running up to and just after when the Trek takes place.  All proceeds I raise from events and donations on this site will go to the Hospice. 

Lisa - my eldest daughter works for the Prince of Wales Hospice Pontefract and because of this I have become more aware of how hard they have to work raising funds to keep the hospice open for the local community.  I have only ever heard enormously positive reports from people who have stayed in the hospice, or visit it as a day patient, and their families are supported too - so it is a well worth while service to nurture which is not provided by the NHS. 

Peru Trek will take the group to ascend dizzying heights of over 4500 feet, a good 1500 feet over anything I have previously climbed - so I am in for some serious training over the next 8 months!  I hope to raise funds by organising fun events locally and by using my complementary therapy skills in more unnusual settings.  If you are able to donate to this Just Giving page - that will be a fantastic help for the Hospice.
