Scouts and Leaders from Lowestoft in Suffolk have been selected to attend the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Sweden in 2011. Each of us has to raise the fees to attend this once in a lifetime event. Coming from one of the richer countries of the world, some of our fee allows a scout from a poorer part of the world to attend the event.

There will be about 30,000 people at the Jamboree, representing more countries than will attend the olympics in London in 2012. The young people will mingle with others from all over the world, overcoming language and class barriers, proving that the youth of the world can come together to celebrate all that is good in humanity.

Sweden By Any Means is a multi-transport distance event. Leaving Lowestoft by Train, the participants will then Walk to Bungay, Kayak to Elingham, Cycle to Beccles and get the Bus back to Lowestoft - a total of over 38 miles.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Despite the wind and rain we completed the journey successfully, you can see a selection of photo's at:
