Wheelchair needed urgently!
We are trying to raise funds to purchase a wheelchair for a disabled woman in Zambia who lives in Siamasimbi, a remote village in the Mukuni chiefdom, with her three children. Our family recently funded a community house to be built by The Butterfly Tree Charity to accommodate her and her children. That’s a good start but it’s only a job half done as the head of the household doesn’t currently have a decent level of mobility, which seriously impacts on her ability to care for her family as she would wish to. The chair she currently has is old and not at all fit for purpose and the simple act of having a wheelchair that works properly could make an enormous difference to this family. We are going to swim 25,000metres (although I hasten to add, not all in one go – not completely insane!), and are hoping to raise enough to get her a new chair. We know that there are huge demands on everyone’s money at the moment, especially with Christmas looming, but if everyone was prepared to donate even a small amount we just might be able to get this lady a wheelchair, and improve her quality of life and that of her children dramatically We have attached a picture of the family we are trying to support. These people live simply but are very happy despite their hardships. Anything you feel you can give would be really appreciated. Thank you so much,
Beth and Hannah.
