Event: OSCAR Dragon Boat Race 2019, on 13 September 2019
We help the hospital offer a better future to seriously ill children across the UK

Story

On 13 September, in the finale event of London International Shipping Week, Swire Bulk are racing in the sixth annual OSCAR Dragon Boat Race to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital to save the lives of children with leukaemias and other types of cancers.

The OSCAR Campaign is named after Oscar Parry, the eldest son of Phil Parry of Spinnaker Global. Oscar's life was saved by experimental treatments developed for use for all children globally by the bone marrow transplant specialists at GOSH.

The shipping industry raises funds through the OSCAR Campaign to support their research and the new treatments they develop, which save the lives of children today that only a year or two ago wasn't possible. So far, shipping has raised almost £2million and we're hoping to help, via our racing efforts, to smash that target this year.

We'll be taking to a boat in London's Docklands on 13 September and we'd love it if you would dig deep and sponsor us in the race, and help us reach that very impressive £2million mark.

And, if you're about on the day, you are very welcome to come along as a spectator for a £15 donation to GOSH payable on entry. There'll be a bar, live music, and over 400 shipping people anticipated in attendance.

Thank you so much. Every little genuinely helps.
