Story
There are huge challenges faced in Sierra Leone since the end of the
civil war due to a total failure in the country’s infrastructure and a
dislocation of the country's economic fabric.
We would like to
contribute to the relief of poverty for young children and poor families
and empower them by way of better education, training, and healthcare.
In terms of health care we would be looking not only for resources but
for medical and other volunteers once the centre is established in
Kassirie, Samu Chiefdom (SL).
Health, Education, Training, IT lab, Light industry units, Play centre, Living accommodation, Clean water system, Solar and wind turbine power system. The long term aim is to empower women, through the acquisition of basic skills, so that they can become wage and income earners in their own rights. In Africa, as in other parts of the developing world, poverty alleviation it has been found can only be successfully done if women are freed from poverty and the servitude it brings. A woman empowered through simple and basic skills such as sewing, education to achieve higher agricultural yields, and establishing local self-help groups is able to make far greater impact because an entire family is lifted from poverty and children are then able through education to uplift themselves for good.
Therefore, we would very much appreciate it if you are able to make a donation ( no matter how small), as any help will help to ensure that the project becomes a success. In the current economic climate, it has become even more important to see projects, such as the one I am championing, as the way to world recovery and the elimination of hardship and lost lives.
