Story
Even as I type this, I'm having second thoughts. I've done charity stuff in the past, but this is probably going to be the most greuling of the lot. Obviously the cause is a fantastic one and the people are in a desperate situation and need our help, and it just shows how lucky we are that I even have the luxury of opting out of this in a blink of an eye.
I'm going to be living off a total of £6.25 for 5 days from 1st July till 5th July (£1.25 per day). This is roughly the same amount of money that Syrian refugees are given for rations on a weekly basis.
The awful civil war in Syria has ruined the lives of thousands and with your help I'd like to try and aid them as much as possible.
I know I've done various charity-related things in the past, but this is by far going to be the most challenging. Aside from travel to and from work, I will not be spending any money (be it playing football or driving anywhere!) apart from the £6.25.
The money you sponsor will go to providing food, shelter and basic healthcare for these refugees.
The Syrian refugees get £25 per month for food rations and so I hope I will appreciate even just a little bit of their daily strife albeit a watered down version and for a very short period of time.
This is going to be a struggle, but only with your sponsorship and support will I be able to get through knowing that my little sacrifice is all for a good cause.
...Please don't make me do this. No i'm doing it. Seriously what the hell am I going to eat?! I won't be able to drive anywhere or play football. 5 days isn't that long. But. Jeez wait that's like £1something per day. That's nothing. What if I bought like a whole grilled chicken then spaced it out over 5 days? - These are just some of the thoughts I'm currently having. I could go on, but I need to get back to work.
