My 6 year old daughter Evie, my mum Ann and I are helping to raise money for CRUK this year because Evie's best friend Sylvie tragically lost her mum Cheryl to breast cancer in January.

To show their support, Evie and her classmates are walking / running the 5k course with Sylvie.

Cheryl's best friends have organised this fundraising group to celebrate her life and in order to raise money to try to prevent others from going through the same.

CRUK is a charity very close to my heart. I have personally lost several family members to cancer and I have also been through the ordeal of being tested and fortunately whilst I am one of the lucky ones, only suffering from benign tumours, statistically 1 in 3 of us will be affected by cancer. My personal experience also prompted me to set up a direct debit of £4 per month to fund research into ovarian cancer and I will regularly take part in the Race for Life event every year that I am able to.

By donating to this cause, we hope to help CRUK to fund their important research in the hope that one day they will find a cure for this dreadful disease.
