Our personal message:

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

Having endured monsoon conditions last year our team is praying for better weather and a strong tail wind to help us complete the 50 miles from Glasgow to Embra.

With the big day fast approaching, Team member Paul Hamill commented " It seems like only yesterday that today was tomorrow and two weeks from now just over a fortnight away! but I think the troops are ready"

Team Members:

Celtic fan Paul (38) was born and raised in the wilds of east Stirlingshire by wolves until he was 13. The first generation of his family to walk upright his interests include Peruvian folk music, piston engined fighter planes of World war II and trying to level the bing with a pitchfork.

Andy (39) was dragged up in the mean streets of Hamilton. A resident of Clacks since 1975 he should soon qualify for parole. An ambition is to own every Man U shirt ever made. Home baking and nuclear physics feature amongst Andy's leisure pursuits.

Alan "Uncle Albert" -(ancient mariner) created in Leith in 1947...yes 1947! Spent many years sailing the seven seas at the pleasure of her majesty before coming ashore and spending 29 years again at her majesty's pleasure! Breeding haggis and trying to figure out who reads the signs "No Dogs" ( Guide Dogs only) are his only vices.

"Diamond" Dave( 40-ish) - From Alloa  he ran away to go to war when but a lad enjoying tours in many exotic places and Nottingham. The poems of Robert Burns, Lager and digging foxholes in his back garden fill Daves free time.

Paul Castle (33) - Leeds tyke. Another war veteran who was in the forces for a fortnight. Well known round these parts for walking about in his bearskin. No idea what his hobbies are - couldn't understand a word he says.

Steph (39) - Bannockburn wid-tink. Trained the team members to such a high degree that only four of us need stabilisers. A keep fit fanatic he regularly runs up hills and back down again. Full time taxi driver for his kids.

Liz  "I'm only lickle" (42-ish) - Another Bannockburn wid-tink. Team mascot. Enjoys belly dancing, knitting balaclavas for our lads in the gulf and falling off her bike. Intends to ride her raleigh chopper in first gear all the way!

John - (23months) - Although 7 foot 3ins is the baby of the team. Enjoys covering his body in tattoos and fake tan and browsing soft furnishing catalogues. Too busy admiring himself in the mirror for any more hobbies or interests.

Tara (32) - Support Staff Co-ordinator (driver) - Biker chick with a leather fetish. 3 times World chocolate digestive eating champion of Alva has represented Scotland at the Hobnobs finals twice.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Leukaemia Research Fund will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
