We support 'at risk' young people to keep them away from a life of crime

Story

5 stages, approx. 1000 km, 10 hrs a day in the saddle, up some fairly serious mountains...... we can assure you that will get your money's worth!

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page for the William Wates Memorial Trust.

Every year, Monty and his three brothers put on an event to celebrate the life of their youngest brother Will, who was tragically killed whilst travelling on his gap year.

The brothers set up a Trust which aims to enhance the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves through sport, arts and education throughout London and the South East. It is an extremely worthy cause, on which more information can be found via the following link.... www.wwmt.org

The event this year is on a rather 'grande' scale.... the Tour de France route three weeks prior to the actual event. The both of us somewhat foolishly agreed to take on this gruelling challenge before Christmas, with little or no prior knowledge - we very wrongly assumed that a few bike trips back from the pub in our youth would stand us in good stead for such a task....... wrong.... very wrong!

We are pretty much convinced that we have bitten off more than we can chew,  but we find ourselves strangely motivated in doing the best we can for this very worthy cause.

We would be very grateful for any sponsorship that you see fit for such a challenge.... and thus Will's Memorial Trust.

Thank you very much for your kind support.

Tom and Brett

P.S This is definitely NOT a race, but we do aim to do each of our intended 5 mountain stages on the given day... even if it does take us all of that day. The first leg starts on the 28th June in the Pyranees.

NB: Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The William Wates Memorial Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
