Bristol Half Marathon 2010 · 5 September 2010 ·

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

A team of reporters, photographers and staff from Bristol News and Media will be pounding the streets of the city to take part in the Bristol Half Marathon on Sunday September 5. Some of us have run long distances before and others are complete novices - our goal is for all of us to cross the finishing line after 13.1 miles in one piece.

Some of our colleagues are raising money for the Prince's Trust and so we are supporting their efforts and hoping to add to the £10k total they have set themselves. The Trust help young people through training, skill building, business loans, grants, personal development and study support outside school.

The team consists of photographers Dave Betts and Jon Kent, brand communications manager Nick Copson, sub editor Grace Mernagh, reporters Emily Koch, Liz Webster, Paul Burton, Tom Morris and James McNamara.
