Tough Guy 2007 · 25 November 2006

The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

Since my eldest son John was diagnosed with Autism a year ago, the support that has come from the National Autistic Society has been excellent.

This is why we are fundraising for the NAS, by attempting Tough Guy 2007 on Jan 28th 2007.

What is Tough Guy?

This is a Special forces type assault course over 8 miles. It is the original survival ordeal, a test of physical and mental endurance designed to take you beyond your limits.

WE HAVE NOW COMPLETED TOUGHGUY AND SURVIVED!!!

Sunday was a tremendous day; both Gary and myself completed the course in less than 3 hours. There was a lot more water obstacles than we first envisaged, water temperature was all below freezing, main worries was hypothermia and leg cramps, but we escaped very lightly compared to some poor competitors.

There was great team spirit on the day and all competitors help each other, which was handy when your only 6ft tall trying to negotiate a 10ft wall covered in mud.

We would just like to say a big thank you to all of our sponsors who helped raise an amazing £1500 for the NAS.

Many thanks for your support.

Phil and Gary "Tough Guys 2007" and yes we have the badge to prove it!
