JTYAF Tom Stephenson Charity Event JL 17, 3 Section · 14 January 2016

The objective of the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation is to encourage and assist young people to 'climb as high as they can dream', by providing annual scholarships and bursaries for their training and personal development in the pursuit of their ambitions.

Story

This year we are taking part in the Junior Leaders course. One element of the course that is mandatory and we have to undertake in our own time is to complete a fundraising activity for the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation. John Thornton was an air cadet who graduated from JLs with the award ‘Best on course’, before going on to become an officer in the Royal Marines. Tragically he lost his life whilst in Afghanistan on the 30th March 2008.

Tom - I will be partaking in my own private triathlon, which will include swimming 5 km, cycling for 15 km and then running for 5 km.

We would like to kindly ask you to consider donating to this cause, which Johns parents proudly set up in his name. Your money will go to encouraging and assisting young people to ‘climb as high as they can dream.’
