Lost in Pace Step Challenge 4th February - 15th February · 15 February 2019 to 28 February 2019 ·
Thanks for visiting our page.
Tasha, Kim, Anna, Chris & Christie and I have all committed to the challenge of walking at least 10,000 steps (circa 5 miles) per day, for 12 consecutive days and to raise £600 sponsorship for the British Heart Foundation. The "Lost in Pace" challenge is a Pan-Thales-UK challenge with multiple teams trying between them to walk a distance equivalent to the equatorial circumference of the Moon. It's 50 years since Neil Armstrong stepped onto the surface of the Moon. We're each going to be walking many more steps than Neil!
Personally I've seen the impact that heart attacks have, comforting a neighbour just before Christmas whist a couple of paramedics tried for over an hour to restart her husband's heart. Sadly they were not successful. This came out of the blue, the family were completely unprepared. There were no goodbyes. With CPR, time really counts; the sooner CPR starts, the greater the chance of success.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures.
All the money raised for BHF will go towards their Nation of lifesavers
programme where they have the ambition of providing CPR training aids and teaching CPR to all Secondary Schoolchildren in the UK.
Please help us to reach the target we'd like to meet! Let's Beat Heart Disease!
Thanks!
