Dear All
On Sunday September 13th I will be running 10K in order to raise some money for Chestnut Tree House.
Chestnut Tree House is the only childrens hospice in Sussex and cares for children and young adults from 0-19 years of age with progressive life-limiting and mife-threatening diseases from all over the country. The hospice costs approximately £2 million per year to run. Families are not charged for their care and the hospice receives very little goverment funding so it relies almost entirely on the generosity, help and support of the public.
Caring for a sick child is a round the clock, exhausting job so its important for the whole family to have a break, to take time out and relax. Chestnut House provides care for children and young people who have life-limiting dieases such as Muscular Dystrophy, Cystic Fibrosis, Hunters Syndrome, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, multiple disabilities, cancer and progressive genetic disorders - which means they will probably die before they reach adulthood.
Without the support of local people and businesses there would be no Chestnut Tree House no toys and games, no helping hand, no shoulder to cry on, no happy memories and no care for the children and families who need it most.
I am aiming to raise £2,500.00 which will provide all the care services at Chestnut Tree House for half a day, £3.82 pays for one minute of care services !!
Thanks very much, please give generously......
Many thanks
Tom
