Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit.

We have decided to start raising money to support the Crohn's MAP vaccine so that hopefully one day in the not too distant future Owyn and everyone who has Crohn's will have the chance to be cured.

This vaccine has been developed by Professor Hermon Taylor at Kings College London.   It has been successful in animal testing and is very likely to work in humans.  The vaccine is currently in Phase 1 human trials at the Jenner Institute, Oxford, UK.

In a nutshell, it is a bacteria called MAP which is believed to cause Crohn's, the bacteria is found in cattle, and thought to be passed to humans through the food chain, via milk, water, and undercooked meat.

This vaccine will potentially kill MAP and make the person immune to further MAP infection.

We have recently been to meet Professor Hermon Taylor at King College London, where Owyn was tested for MAP.  His results were positive, meaning that after trials, if the vaccine is shown to be effective it will help him.

Please help us make this vaccine a reality.  Without donations this can't happen and it has to.  More and more young children are being diagnosed with Crohn's all the time.  It could affect anyone...even you, or you children.

Every penny counts.
