The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

Between 17th and 30th of November 2011, I will be trekking the through the Himalayan Mountains in India, crossing high mountain passes of 2700M and dense forest into Tibet and onto Bal. It is expected to be an extremely testing physical challenge as the group will be trekking and camping in remote and dramatic conditions. The event and the months of preparation will be tough but I am doing this in order to help increase awareness and raise funds for children with autism and aspergers.

Our son Joe is on the autistic spectrum and as a parent I am doing this for very personal reasons but also to give something back to all who are affected by autism.

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with, and relates to, other people and the world around them.

It is a spectrum condition, which means that, while all people with autism share certain areas of difficulty, their condition will affect them in different ways. Aspergers syndrome is a form of autism.

It's important to support people with more than one condition in a way that meets all their needs, while understanding that the difficulties caused by autism are distinct to those caused by the related condition

~ See http://tsatreknas.blogspot.com

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
