Story

In my opinion, running Royal Parks Half Marathon is a great way of raising money for Haileybury Youth Trust, which works in Uganda. Kipling U6ths went to visit Uganda last year, many thanks to Mr. Matcham, who organised everything and showed us the wonders of Uganda, and Dr. Johnson for being part of an amazing journey. I loved every minute of our trip. For me it was something new I've never experienced before, travelling to Africa for the first time. I was excited, so were the boys and the excitement resulted in a great, great trip to the heart of Africa. We saw the work HYT does and it inspired us, it really did. We painted a building at Makoka school and we felt like we've done something for the charity. It was great fun. When Mr. Matcham asked me if I wanted to take part in a fundraising event such as Royal Parks Half Marathon, I did not hesitate and accepted the challenge. Having seen the Ugandan lifestyle and their struggles with the supply of clean water and poor education, I wanted to do something to make their lives better. This event is a perfect opportunity to do so and I hope with your help, people, we will make the world a better place to live in. Every little helps.
