Story

<p> <p style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial;">Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.<span style="background: white;">&nbsp; This is to raise money to undertake development work in Uganda for a 7 week placement this summer.&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-bottom: 9pt; margin-left: 0cm; background-color: white; vertical-align: baseline; border-style: initial; border-color: initial; border-image: initial; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial;">We are a group of 12 student volunteers and our placement will be in the rural eastern region of Mbale.&nbsp; We have a number of aims but we will primarily be working with the village communities to protect local water sources. As a part of this, we plan to construct a 10 000 litre tank in a primary school where the children currently have no access to clean or safe drinking water and sanitation. &nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: Arial; color: #73645d;"></span></p> <p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-right: 0cm; margin-bottom: 9pt; margin-left: 0cm; background-color: white; vertical-align: baseline; border-style: initial; border-color: initial; border-image: initial; outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial;">We also plan on constructing, and more importantly, showing,&nbsp;the villagers how to build more fuel efficient smokeless stoves from locally sourced materials. This alternative design of stove will help to combat shortages of firewood. It is also shown to reduce the risk of respiratory disease due to inhaling excessive smoke in small homes - one of the biggest causes for mortality in Africa. Finally, we will be educating the children and local community about health and sanitation in general - we will hence be doing everything we can to ensure the impacts are long term and sustainable.&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: Arial; color: #73645d;"></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial;">Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
