Story
After last year’s fun at the 10k, Tanya decided that it would be fun to have another go this year....and convinced Martin to do it too! This year, we are running for the RSPCA and really hope that you will help this very deserving charity by supporting us. Besides, knowing how much Martin hates any physical activity the fact that he is actually taking part is a great sign of his dedication...!
The RSPCA is the oldest and best-known animal welfare organisation and have been responding to and campaigning for animals in need since they first formed in 1824.
They are best known for rescue and rehoming work with cats and dogs, but actually respond to all animals in need, not just other pets but also wildlife, farm animals and laboratory animals. Their highest priority is to help those animals most in need; animals who are sick, injured, neglected or victims of cruelty and provide a safe place for them to be taken to. The RSPCA work tirelessly to rescue animals from all dangers, cruelty, accidents and disasters, medically treat and rehabilitate them before rehoming them or releasing them back into the wild. Alongside this, people are educated to prevent the accidental cruelty to animals. Also, the RSPCA continue to campaign to make changes such as the Animal Welfare Act of 2006, whereby they can act to help animals before they are seen to be suffering and prosecute those who deliberately mistreat or seriously neglect animals. Please help us support this worthwhile charity, and in particular our local London South-East branch. Every little helps to support those who can’t ask for help themselves. Thanks for all your support! Tanya and Martin
