Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On April 1st Il be walking for DFSG.Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a genetic disorder causing progressive muscle degeneration in about 1 in 3000 boys. There is currently no cure for the condition which gradually impairs mobility leading to eventual paralysis and an often drastically reduced life span.I have become aware of the condition through my friend Johanna Jones whose gorgeous son Archie was diagnosed 7 years ago when he was 2 years old.Jo is a representative for the DFSG which is a support group for families affected by DMD.They offer a free helpline for those affected with advice information and support-they also subsidise family days out and holidays for the boys and young men affected by DMD and their families-some much needed fun and respite for them all which must be invaluable at times.Im wanting to challenge myself with the 11 mile (very hilly!) walk in order to raise cash and awareness and to highlight the challenges these boys and their families are facing on a daily basis.
