Story

Arrived in Bastia, only 2 out of the 7 bags didn't make it and are still in Paris! So the waiting begins...

Hey guys, I would really appreciate your sponsorship for a charity hike I am doing for Cancer Research this summer!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This summer we (Tarquin, Daniel, Kit, Vere, Joe, Tim and Harry) will be attempting to trek the north part of the GR20 long distance hiking trail in Corsica in aid of Cancer Research UK. The GR20 has been crowned the most difficult trek in Europe. It is much tougher than any trek we have done and I'm enormously excited to visit this beautiful island and complete the hardest part of the 180km world famous hiking trail. My Grandfather was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma 8 years ago and is now in remission. My Grandmother has more recently been diagnosed with secondary Cancer and continues to receive treatment. The work that Cancer Research has pioneered, plays a significant role in the treatment and support of my Grandparents and is why this charity is so personal to me. Our goal is to complete the North Section of the GR20 in 7 days (It is normally 9!). The island is rugged and terrain is rough. There will be plenty of scrambling over exposed sections and on certain days we will use steel chains and ladders for support. It's going to be tough. Please donate what you can to help Cancer Research UK so that we may eventually eradicate this disease. No matter how big or small your donation is, it will help massively. Ps - Don't forget to Gift Aid it. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your money gets sent directly to the charity and JustGIving make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
