My story
I decided to become involved with fundraising for the Pakistan Recovery Fund (as part of the British Asian Trust) as I believe in the organisation's veracities and the difference that they are making in Pakistan.
His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, formed The Pakistan Recovery Fund in response to the on-going humanitarian effort still required in Pakistan in the wake of the 2010 floods. I had the pleasure in meeting His Royal Highness who is very passionate about the cause and is a true gentleman.
Pakistan seems to have been a forgotten cause but did you know that:-
8 million people were left homeless
The area of Pakistan underwater is bigger than England
1,744,471 households were destroyed or damaged
12,516 schools were destroyed or damaged
For those of you who know me well, know that I am hardly ever seen without 6inch heels. However, I have decided to run a marathon for the flood victims of Pakistan in order to better the situation in Pakistan.
Currently, I cannot even run 5 minutes without huffing and puffing and I have a long struggle ahead of me. However, your generous support and the difference that we can make together will make it all worthwhile.
I am grateful for any donation (however big or small) to reach my target and would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in me and my cause.
