My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
STOP PRESS UPDATE - WE DID IT! On Saturday 26 June 2010 the Taylor-Smith family took on Mt Snowdon and won. Family Members made the ascent carrying a heavy wheelchair containing Master Theo Taylor-Smith all the way to the summit at 1085 metres. It was hard work.
The T-S brothers showed great skill and stamina. It was very hot but we lost nobody even Ashton T-S who insisted on wearing tweeds, a bow tie and a orange fedora hat. Kim T-S sustained a grazed knee but continued through the pain with non-stop music. David T-S' large calves came in useful heaving the wheelchair and Martin T-S showed a surprising turn of veteran speed.
There were fantastic efforts made by the grandchildren. Peter and Max T-S took on their share of heavy wheelchair lifting. Emma and Lucy kept up spirits with encouraging banter (and in Emma's case offers of fags). Bertie T-S helped moderate the music choices. Poppy and India were amazing and showed the older generation how easy they found the walk. Clemmie and Alice were delighted to come down the mountain.
The wives were brilliant. Rosanna, Sylvia and Jacs seemed to skip up the hill. Sarah in high tech clothing, multi tasked roles including giving medical support to those on the way down.
Honorary family members were fantastic. James Barrow showed that he really was "man-mountain" and very fit and Mark Mountjoy seemed untroubled by the heat and gradient.
Our huge thanks to Days Healthcare who generously provided the wheelchair. It was excellent and without your support we would have been carrying much more weight.
Thank you everyone for all the support.
Adam
Importantly we are edging towards achieving our target of raising £15,000 for The Stroke Association.
For those who have already donated a huge thank you and for those who have not - it is never too late.

THE CHALLENGE
The Challenge is to to raise over £15,000 for The Stroke Association on 26 June 2010. The Taylor-Smith family will attempt to do this by pushing a family member to the top of the 1085 metre summit of Snowdon in time for a late family lunch with Joy Taylor-Smith. Those taking part in the Challenge will be principally her five sons and her grandchildren.
THE CATALYST
Joy Taylor-Smith was fit and active until she had a severe stroke in 2003 that left her paralysed on her left side and for many months unable to communicate. It is no exaggeration to say that her courage has been an inspiration to those around her. This year is special as Joy will be 80 and as part of the celebrations the Taylor-Smith family are coming together to raise as much money as we can for The Stroke Association.
The Stroke Association is working for a world where there are fewer strokes and those touched by strokes get all the help they need. Every year 150,000 people in the UK suffer from a stroke and a third of these are likely to die within 10 days.
