A huge thank you to everyone who ran and supported us on the 21st August for our first ever 10K at Heaton Park. It was fantastic and we're so proud of everyone that did it on such a scorcher of a day. Congratulations to Gary Mallinson who took first place with an impressive 44minutes, 4.11 seconds. Special thanks go to Manchester Central Fire Station's Blue Watch running in full fire-fighting kit, absolutely awesome! (see pics below).

Barnabus have been bringing hope and support to Manchester's homeless and vulnerable for nearly 20 years and this year we ran our first 10k to mark 10 years at our centre "The Beacon".
Our centre is a safe place where people can get help; showers, food, clothing, toiletry/dignity packs and blankets. Our support workers and volunteers befriend, listen and help connect people to emergency shelters and accommodation, offer advice on benefits and source new ID.
We have our own health and wellbeing centre, offering basic first aid and work with appropriate specialist services to help support those with mental health issues and/or drug and alcohol problems. Our English, Maths, ITC classes, Arts and Crafts, our collaborative Allotment and Street Soccer Projects all promote a sense of belonging, community and increase skills helping to support and help those we meet, back into mainstream society.
