Batten disease is a group of rare, progressive neurodegenerative, genetic metabolic diseases that occur in children & adults worldwide. The BDFA's Vision is to be the central point of excellence in the UK for supporting affected families funding research into a potential cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!

We all completed the 13.1 miles, Nick didn't make it but Victoria donned an orange T shirt and joined Team-Battens!

The weather was perfect for running and we all had a fantastic day, made better knowing we were raising money for the BDFA.

There are a few new pictures from the day so feel free to have a flick through, if you fancy a real laugh you can go to the Reading Half Marathon website and view videos of us all crossing the finish line! (You just need to enter our names)

If you haven't made a donation yet but would still like to the website will remain active for a couple of months.

Thank you for all your support!

By sponsoring us you will help facilitate research into this rare genetic condition for which there is currently no cure or treatment to prevent the progressive decline which is associated with the disease.   It is our hope that one day soon a cure will be found.  The BDFA also works to promote and protect the health and welfare of persons affected by Batten's, supporting them and their families.
