My life like most people has dates that hold particular memories. Meeting friends, meeting my soul mate, getting married , all sorts of things But there are two dates that changed me forever. 6/12/10 when I gave birth to our gorgeous son Jacob and the 20/4/12 when he died because of Mitochodnrial Disease.
Jacob was only with us for 501 days - he was and still is the driving force in my life. When he was here I was devoted to being his mummy, now he has gone I am determined to make a difference in his memory.
Until recently I have been on the "support team" for all our fundraising - but 4 years since he had to go and after loosing 5.5 stone since Sept 2014 it's time for me to make a real difference and take on my own challenge.
So with a group of the most amazing mums and one dad all of whom have lost a child to Mitochodrial Disease and all of whom have been an incredible support since loosing Jacob, I will be running 10k. Anyone who knows me knows I don't run for a train, I'd rather miss it! So this is a massive challenge for me. I do know that Jacob and all of the Mito Angels will keep me going. They were strong so so can I be.
Please donate if you can - maybe just give up a coffee or two and give £5. A child is born every 20 min with genetic changes that can cause Mitochondrial Disease - no treatment, no cure always life limiting. The Lily Foundation want to change that so families don't have to loose the most precious of things - their child - help me help them
Thank you xxxx
