Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are taking part in the Midnight memory walk for our local hospice, Kirkwood on the 23rd June 2012 at 12.00am. Two years ago, our grandmother was diagnosed with a tumour in her abdomen. She was treated at St James hospital in Leeds, up until she was admitted to hosptial in March.

The team at Leeds got us in contact with Kirkwood hospice, who were able to give us and our grandmother lots of help and advice. They made life around the house alot easier for our grandmother by installing hand rails on the stairs and bathrooms and support rails on the bed. These little "extras" really helped our grandmother live an independent life without feeling like she was a burden.

We really appreicated all the help that Kirkwood gave us. Without them we never knew help like this was out there. So we thought what better way to say thank you then to walk 10 miles around Huddersfield at midnight to raise some extra funds, so that families like ours can benefit from all the help and support that this fantastic hospice has to offer!

Any change, small or big will be greatly appreciated by the hospice. So please donate!!!
