Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My wife Tina was diagnosed with a brain tumour in April 2006. After a long battle she sadly passed away in December 2009. During the last four months of her life she was referred to Mary Stevens Hospice, first as a day patient then eventually admitted full time.
Where do I start. Mary Stevens Hospice is a wonderful place. The care that Tina received was second to none, from the volunteers through to the doctors and management. Words cannot describe how grateful I am for the kindness and care that was shown to Tina. During her time at Mary Stevens Hospice I discovered that over 80% of their costs were covered by public fund raising, which amounts to approximately 2.5million pounds per annum. A LOT OF MONEY.
I decided that I had to do something to help raise funds. After a chat with 5 of my friends we decided to do The Three Peaks Challenge, which involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowdon. Once word got out what we intended to do the numbers quickly grew and there are now 46 people doing the challenge, a testament to Tina.
So please help us to raise as much as we can to enable Mary Stevens Hospice carry on their wonderful work.
We will be raising the money in the memory of Tina, a wonderful wife, a fantastic mother and most of all my best friend for 25 years.
Thank you for your support
Mike
