Story

We are attempting the Carten 100 on 12th May 2012 - the infamous Cardiff to Tenby bike ride, 100 miles all of which is completed in a single day.  600+ cyclists  are riding this year supporting JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).  JDRF funds research into a cure for Type 1 Diabetes which afflicts over 1,000 children and over 20,000 adults in Wales.  Significant groundbreaking research is currently being conducted at Cardiff University. Team Umber comprises of Richard Lanchbury, Richard Price, Steve Gardner, Simon Lloyd and Chris Lloyd.  However a small mention must go to cycling rookies Simon and Andy Moore, who despite making several outings with us over the past months and training hard for Ironman 2012…….did not quite make the cut for Team Umber.  More training is needed guys….maybe next year! This page is aimed at generating sponsorship and all who know us know that we are not cyclists and will probably be rather surprised with our ambition in taking on such a challenge.  So please consider this when thinking about donating, any amount will help both the JDRF and us when the going gets tough.  Please donate and help make a difference.
