Story
Hi All!
Thanks for taking the time to visit the Armstrong JustGiving page. Team Armstrong is getting its fundraising hat (and running shoes!) on this September and taking part in a 10K run around Salford in aid of KidsCan, a local children's charity.
KidsCan Children’s Cancer Research Centre was established in late 2002 to specifically support research into new and improved treatments for children with cancer. The scientists at KidsCan are looking for treatments which are less damaging to the bodies of children and young adults. They aim to reduce both short and long term side effects whilst retaining the effectiveness of many current treatments.
The work carried out within the KidsCan laboratories covers a range of activities from basic research into new treatments, through to applied research focused on improving the outcome of therapies currently used in the treatment of children with cancer.
KidsCan receive no statutory funding, and rely entirely on contributions from the public, volunteers, businesses and funds generated through KidsCan events for their groundbreaking research to continue.
Runners for this event are:
Graham Harrison, Helen Wright, Ian Nuttall, Laura Donovan, Luke Pawsey, Matt Jones, Sally Stothard, Tremayne Hatton (all of Armstrong Communications), ex-Armstrong comrade Alex Linnen (of Blue Solutions) and honorary Team Armstrong member Geoff Airey (of Lowri Beck).
Seasoned runner Ian Nuttall is outshining the entire team by taking part in the Tatton Triathlon the day before the 10K event!
