Story

A great man once said, "Be the change you want to see in the world", and this got us thinking - reassessing our decisions. Team Benevolence may be one small group of people to the whole world but to one small orphaned girl or boy in India, we may be the whole world. We want to bring a voice to these helpless children and give them a chance to lead a life that we, here in the UK, take for granted everyday. To give them a chance to go into the real world and lead a real life without a disadvantage to all those who are priviledged enough to have an education. For our team, our main wish is to grant every child's most important wish - to embark on the journey that is life with full confidence, respect and the feeling of acceptance by their peers. We can live our lives to the very last day without any special 'thank yous', recognition or pats on the back, but knowing that we've made a significant, positive difference to a child's life, granting them access to full love, care and support, we will die very happy people indeed.

Team Benevolence's aim is to raise £10,000 because in 1928 women won the right to vote in the UK; in 1865, slavery came to an end in the USA and in 1869, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born. If you add up all the digits of the years, you get 64 and if you add up 6 and 4, you get 10. We've all gained equal rights in the past therefore we all should have equal rights to education and support.

Please do your best to help us reach this target because, unfortunately, however high-spirited and caring Team Benevolence may be, we cannot do this alone. We need your help, contribution and moral support, however big or small it is, and together we'll raise enough money to make a difference to a child's life - a child whose every day routine could be taking care of siblings or narrowly avoiding starvation because of living in a place where fresh water and sanitation is but a dream. Come to our events or donate money by texting WING60 £1 to 70070 or, if you're feeling particularly generous, you can substitute the £1 for, £2, £3, £4, £10 and so on! All we need is help and support from willing people. Will you be that person?

Our reason for doing this?: "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed in the things you didn't do than the things you do. So
throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the
trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain.
