The Freshnlo Great Scottish Run 2009 · 6 September 2009 ·

Founded by Ex-Watchdog presenter and bowel cancer survivor Lynn Faulds Wood. We help to investigate every stage of the patient's journey - from prevention and screening to palliative care - to help save lives from bowel cancer and to improve the quality of life of those going through the journey

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.   Lorna died on 31st July 2008 after a 5 month battle with advanced bowel cancer. She was only 36yrs old & left behind 3 adorable young children. We hope to help,in some way, other young people  and families affected by bowel cancer. We decided to raise money through the 10km as Lorna ran it once many years ago & was so chuffed with herself- although she never did it again !!

50% of the money raised will go to Lynn's Bowel Cancer Campiagn who raise awareness of bowel cancer symptoms in young people and offer help ,advice and information to all sufferers. 50% will go to  the Birmingham cancer ward where Lorna was treated .

We have runners in all 3 races- kids race ,10km and the 1/2 marathon. We will run, jog, walk & hobble around the courses and your suport is vital and much appreciated.

Please give what you can and pass this page onto others you know. Help us make something positive come from our  terrible loss.

With huge thanks from all of Team Lorna xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
